About the Designer
Hi, My name is Modupe and I am the creative director and chief servant of Iremitide (Formerly Stardust Creations).
I fell in love with fabric and dresses from a young age and really started illustrating dresses in secondary school, on every piece of paper I could find. Subsequently, life happened and I ended up not designing again until University, where I would doodle and sketch on random sheets of paper, backs of exam papers and anything I could find, coming home for the holidays with designs to be brought to life by my mother’s tailors and continued illustration.
In 2016, after graduating the previous year with an LLB (Hons) and having just completed Law School, I was fortunately opportuned to take fashion illustration classes with Martwayne School of Design where I polished my fashion illustration skills.
During my Service year, I am a colleague from Law School, Bisola attempted to create a fashion line called The Elite Store. We scoured the Yaba Market for tailors, fabric samples and created sample pieces for a few friends and did an amateur shoot in an old friend’s home.
After a couple of years juggling my love for fashion with her career as a young lawyer, In 2018, Stardust Creations was born, making smart casual and casual adire attire for the African Woman.
In 2021, the sub-brand Irede by Stardust was created to cater to bridal and special occasion wear clients, following the success of our first bridal outfit made for my closest friend. I would say that I have since evolved in the fashion industry, building her team and creating special occasion and wedding attire for brides and other clients from the U.S, Canada and the UK.
We aim to provide everything from wedding gowns, veils, evening dresses, cocktail dresses and even daytime wear. “My dream is to make dresses that celebrate the wearer’s elegance, strength and femineity in a way that does downplay or hide the wearer’s individual beauty. I would love for my pieces to be known when they are worn to celebrate the wearer in the very best way”.
